Thick hair, when managed and styled carefully, looks beautiful. Besides cutting into short, medium and long lengths, it can be styled to control the curled tendencies that are common to thick hair. Another popular style for thick hair is layering.
Short Styles:
One of the good choices for thick hair is a short, jaw-length shag style. In this style, hairs are cut into many layers. It looks messy and carefree and is also easy to maintain.
Medium Styles:
For people with thick hair, medium-length hair styles either with or without layers look attractive. This hairstyle with layers gives lift and volume to heavy thick hair. Normally, natural curls appear in thick hair that is cut into medium layers.
Straight Styles:
Straight style can be achieved in thick hair by using a flat iron. The flat iron should be at least 1.5 inches wide for long and thick hair. Dry the hair and use a hot flat iron to straighten all of the hair. For straight style, you can use a leave-in conditioner and an anti-frizz product.
A variety of straight hairstyles can be created using a flat iron. You can straighten the hair in the normal fashion. However, when the flat iron is pulled down to the last several inches of a section of hair, wrap the hair around it in a way that is similar to a curling iron and hold it for several seconds.
Curly Hair:
Thick and curly hairs can be managed with hair products designed to control frizz. Long frizzy hair may appear out of control and unattractive. Try using shampoos and conditioners that provide moisture to the hair.
Thick curly hair can be styled which looks gorgeous with plenty of volume, body and bouncy curls. A mousse can be used to add volume. Allow the curly hair to air dry instead of using a blow dryer. If you use a blow dryer, place a diffuser attachment onto the blow dryer so that the curls won’t become frizzy. You can prevent frizz by applying a light finishing product.
