If you’re only doing it on that one weekend it’s really not necessary… but if you plan on continueing to staighten/curl your hair with heat, yeah, you should probably buy some heat protectant. I use Aussie. It stops split ends, frizziness, and other types of heat damage.

If you want your hair to stay quite healthy it’s a good idea.

And two of the best brands I’ve used are Got2BeCrazy and Matriz Sleek Look.

Using a heat protector before and maybe even a serum after makes the hair shiny and healthier.
There are a lot of brands out there. As far as a serum I really like super skinny serum by Paul Mitchell but I know there are others that would work too. Same as a heat protector.

no you dont have to. it wnt ruin your hir in one use. over the years it might damage your hair. but ou can use heat protectant if you feel better.

You should because the heat fries your hair and if you don’t it’ll get damaged and you’ll get split ends

Hi! August 26, 2010 at 3:30 am

WEll personally i dont use any.

To me it just makes my hair have more crap on it.

and really i dont think it does much.

LIke my mom uses it and she said that i should use it cause it helps..

then you look at her ends and they are all fried and split.

but then again she practically fries her hair whenever she fixes her hair because she cant get it to look “right” so she re curls or re straightens all the time like a whole bunch…and she has hardly any hair and its short so yeah.

anyway

thats my opinion.

i have loads of hair haha and its long and naturally curly..i usually have to straighten it a lot to get it to be straight like in layers.

Then if i have it curly i have to fix it with a curling iron (it looks like taylor swifts hair..no joke) but i have dark brown hair.

so anyway

My dad is a hair dresser and the first thing i learned is ALWAYS use heat protection even that much heat once can damage your hair! Thermasilk is the best product to get and you can buy it at pretty much every drugstore

You should always use an heat protector before using heat on your hair whether it’s flat, curling iron, blow dryer, hair dryer. There are a lot of brands out there, try several and keep note of how it felt on your hair, what you like or disliked about it til you find the one that best meets your expectations.
