HARD TO CURL HAIR!!! HELP!?

ok so i have conair and it doesnt hold my hair very well. My hair is extremely hard to curl and it is very frizzy. It is thick too. it doesnt have any real shape so when it dries natural it is frizzy and some parts are straight and some parts are extrmely curly. so i was wondering what kind of curling iron i should use to curl my hair… i have to do it in the morning before school so it has to be very very fast. and also do those 2 in 1 curling iron and straigheners work on my type of hair??? Please just help me find the best way to keep my curls with out using tons of products. a few are fine but not that many. so which curling iron should i use. preferrably a professional brand because the ones that are not professional tend to not work on my hair very well. How Do I Clean My Curling Iron? Please Help!?

My sister is always taking my stuff….including my curling iron! She got some kind of residue on it (looks like hairspray or something). I was planning to use it tomorrow how do I clean it.
